Results 2022
We are delighted to share the success of our pupils in yet another year of exceptional results at GCSE, AS and A Level.
2022 marked the return of formal examinations after a three-year hiatus caused by the pandemic. Our students excelled in their examinations, resulting in our highest levels of attainment ever. We would like to congratulate our students on their tremendous success and thank our teachers for their work in delivering “Achievement for All”.
Yr. 11 GCSEs
- Our Progress 8 is +2.02*. This means that our students made over 2 grades more progress in each of their subjects when compared to their peers nationally.
- 88% achieved grades 9-5 in English and Maths GCSE (national average 50%)
- 64% of exams were awarded 9-7 grades
- 89% achieved the English Baccalaureate (national average 27%)
- 66% of Maths exams were graded 9-7 including 84 grade 9s
- 94% of English exams were graded 9-5 with 63% achieving grades 9-7
- 58% of all Science exams were grades 9-7, including 76 grade 9s
- 121 pupils achieved 5 or more grades 9-7
- 67 out of 216 students achieved 10 or more grades 9-7
- Almost 500 individual grade 9s were achieved
- Congratulations to the 12 students who achieved 10 or more grade 9s!
A Level
- 44% of exams were awarded A*/A grades, including 71 A*s and 151 As.
- 72% of exams were awarded A*-B grades
- 41 students achieved at least 3 A grades
- Congratulations to the 9 students who achieved 3 A* grades
- Over 50% of all pupils secured places at Russell Group universities
- 3 students are now studying at Oxford or Cambridge and 5 students have secured places to study Medicine or Dentistry
- 7 students secured an offer to Imperial
- 11 students secured an offer to LSE
- 21 students secured an offer UCL
- 34 students secured an offer to KCL
- 83 students secured an offer to QMUL
- We are incredibly proud of these students’ achievements and wish them every success in the next stage of their education!
AS Level
- 60% of exams were awarded A-B grades
- 79% of exams were awarded A-C grades
- The overall pass rate remains at 97%
- 47 students achieved at least 3 A grades, and particular congratulations to the 33 students who achieved four A grades.
*Please note that these figures differ from those on the DfE website. This is because our students take several of their examinations early, achieving the highest grades possible in subjects such as Maths, English Literature, Geography, Spanish and RS in Years 9 and 10, before going on to more challenging courses in Year 11. This curriculum model has been a feature of our school for many years and represents the high level of ambition that we hold for our students. It is popular with our students, their teachers and their parents. It allows our students to be entered when they are ready for success and creates opportunities for them to study additional subjects such as Additional Mathematics, Philosophy, Psychology, Latin, Astronomy and Classical Civilisation as fast track one-year GCSE courses in Year 11. This ensures that students are prepared for further success in Key Stage 5 and that their applications to the best universities in the world are highly competitive.
Due to the pandemic, the Year 11 headline figures reported by the Department for Education do not include the results which our students achieved during these years and are therefore differ from our figures above. Our statistics above show what our students actually achieved by the end of Year 11 – our highest grades ever.
